Wardrobe essentials

1. Bra and Inner wear
This is a basic and most essential in wardrobe. No matter how pretty is your outfit, without good bra it wouldn't look good on you. Invest in a good fit bra. It is recommended to have 3 bras in nude/close to your complexion, white and black. If you can't afford, just go for nude color bra specially with multiway option. This goes with any color top and gives more for your buck. Also, a sport bra for an active lifestyle. Read some guidelines how to determine good fit and style of bra for your body type before going to the store. This will help you save time and not get overwhelmed with the choices available.

Inner wear is also important and make sure to wear certain style for a dress to avoid panty line issue.

2. White Silk blouse/ cotton shirt
This is versatile piece which can be used for formal or casual wear. I prefer long sleeve and button down shirt. You can just hold sleeves to give a casual look with jeans or cotton/ jean skirt. Adding a blazer or sweater on a pencil skirt or slack for a formal look. This is go-to top when you are sure what to wear. White instantly brightens your face and gives a chic look.

3. Black dress
A little black dress is an essential clothing. Invest in a good quality black dress either in sheath or A- line style according to your body type. This serves as a skirt by adding a blouse or accessorize with silk scarf, belt or sach to create different outfit. There are multiple ways to wear a black dress!

4. Jeans
Jeans is one clothing we will use more than any other. So, invest in a jeans which fits you like a gloves. Preferably, dark wash with straight cut. Again, choose jeans cut according to your body type. It serves for casual look as well as semi-formal by adding a blazer/jacket. Optional: If you don't wear jeans alot then buy a black slacks instead.

5. Black pump
Choose a basic black pump with no platform. This style is timeless and goes with almost all outfit. Platform height reveals the time of that fashion trend. So, go for a pump with no platform. Choose a comfortable heel height. Tips: Add a leg warmer for cold climate, 80's style has made a come back :)
6.  Black blazer
Of course, it gives a formal look with slacks or formal skirt. It gives a casual chic look when paired with jeans or dress shorts. Remember, the fit is perfect with proper shoulder and sleeve length. If you are bustier choose single button to elongate the look.

7. Trench coat / leather jacket
If you are going for a sophisticated look, I would recommend trench coat. Some complain that trench coat can't be used all the time. Honestly, it is not meant only for rainy days. It can be worn when it gets colder for a cardigan. For a very cold weather, layer over a sweater and add a scarf. I would recommend a khaki/tan color for a classic look and good mileage.

For a casual chic, leather jacket is more appropriate. I would prefer a simple cut and less details to be immune to trends.

8. White T-shirt
This is one inexpensive wardrobe essential. It is worn in multiple ways and with few accessories to give a different look. I usually buy cheap T-shirt with V-neck and scoop neck. No matter how good is your detergent, white tees loose their brightness. You wouldn't mind tossing it off if it is just couple of dollars. White is one color which gives a clean look and works as a blank canvas.

9. Accessories
It is purely on your personal preferance. Some love to wear silk or light weight scarf. Few prefer statement necklace or long chains. Whatever is your style, make sure you are comfortable and choose versatile piece to go with more than 3 outfit.
